The social hour will be held from 3PM-4PM in the CSL lounge (Room 369).

Everybody affiliated with CSL is welcome at the social (students, postdocs, faculty, research scientists, etc.).

Remote Sensing and Space Sciences

This week our speaker will be Dan Fisher.

Abstract: Our remote sensing group uses passive optical techniques to measure parameters of the neutral thermosphere, hoping to better understand the complex physics in this region .  Recently, we have turned some attention to observing gravity waves in these instruments in order to learn how well the earth and the upper atmosphere are coupled.  I will briefly discuss how gravity waves can be observed in our current instrumentation and explain the goals of our imager installation in Tahiti.
